Ebonyi State Union UK Elects New Executives
On Saturday 23 September 2017 Ebonyi State Union UK elected a new executive into office. They will serve Ebonyians for the next 2 years.
The newly elected executive are:
Chima Olugh – President
Barrister Tina Oby-Onyia – Vice President
Emmanuel Umoke – General Secretary
Daniel Anya – Assistant General Secretary
Manny Chukwu-Onu – Treasurer
Florence Ibiam – Financial Secretary
Patrick Oleh – PRO & Social Secretary
Dr Akanu Obasi – Welfare Secretary
Peter Orioha – Committee member
At the 1st general house meeting of the new guard the president congratulated the previous president and the executive for their endeavours in taking the Union to the current heights.
He introduced the new executive and challenged them all to not just maintain the status quo but to build on the solid foundations left by the previous team.
The president and his team laid out the Ebonyi State Union UK roadmap for the next 2 years. This included:
- A renewed effort to drive Membership engagement
- The 2018 calendar
- The 2017 Xmas party
- Full Charitable status for ESU
- The 2018 scholarship
- The youngsters competition 2018
- The family day out 2018
- The youngsters film day
- Regional meetings
- Providing strategic support and leadership to other organisations in the U.K.
- The Scotland – Ebonyi Partnership Project
- Improved engagement with the Ebonyi State leadership
- The ESU Website
In October the new executive met with the Ebonyi State governor for a round table discussion.
The ESU Christmas party is taking place on Saturday 9 December 2017.
